Brand Planner (9-Month Fixed Term Contract) – In-House – To £60k Pro Rata – Central London / Hybrid

One of the UK’s energy big-hitters is looking for an experienced Brand Planner to take on a nine-month fixed-term contract beginning as soon as possible.
The role
This newly created role sits within the company’s B2C arm which focuses on, among many other projects, renewables and home energy solutions.
It offers a chance to use your creative heart and your business head not only to get under the skin of a huge global brand but to instil a culture of strategic thinking across the board.
Brand planning is a new function for the team, and this is a rare opportunity to enjoy some true autonomy as the company’s strategic engine room.
Working into the Senior Campaign Lead as part of the Go To Market team, you’ll be collaborating with the creative studio and marketing, digital experience and sales performance departments, and enjoy support from a solid insights team.

You will be…
- taking ownership of brand metrics health, by ensuring consistency of how this household name shows up across the products it launches and in through-the-line campaigns
- translating commercial goals into actionable brand and marketing strategy, shaping audience targeting, messaging, channel and communication approaches
- the first port of call for defining how to package propositions
- proactively identifying opportunity areas
- supporting the development of compelling and differentiated brand narratives
What’s required
- Proven experience developing and evolving brand marketing strategy, including brand positioning, architecture and messaging frameworks
- Strong understanding of brand measurement tools and methodologies, with a track record of linking brand activity to key business and brand health metrics
- Knowledge of how to leverage media channels effectively to build brand equity, across owned, earned, and paid channels
- The ability to analyse consumer, competitor and market trends to uncover strategic brand opportunities and inform decision-making
- Experience working cross-functionally to deliver integrated brand activations
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage and maintain brand consistency across multiple touchpoints
- Skilled in translating propositions into compelling consumer-facing packages, including clear targeting, messaging, and channel marketing strategy
- Background in working alongside proposition development teams to maximise brand appeal
- Comfortable balancing long-term brand building with short-term performance goals in a fast-moving environment
- Experience in regulated or complex sectors such as energy is a bonus
Work from home policy
This company offers flexible hybrid working with Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the office and three days per week from home.
Salary and benefits
This role carries a salary of £55k-60k pro rata.
