Account Director - Charity Account - Top 5 Direct Marketing Agency - to £50k

Extremely well respected direct marketing led agency seeks a talented Account Director to head up two of the charity-world's most loved accounts.

The agency are responsible for planning and delivering a £4.5m [p.a] acquisition programme. From developing the strategy, planning and buying the media implementation.

The Account Director will be responsible for overseeing the campaign implementation and ensuring the team deliver on time and within budget.

The Account Director will liaise with the media team on planning multiple door drop, cold mail and insert campaigns with digital work as required. 

The Account Director needs to be comfortable with testing principles and applying them to campaign plans as well as interpreting results and looking for and recommending campaign refinements.

The successful Account Director will manage two Account Managers / Senior Account Managers to deliver all creative, artwork, and print (with a production manager) requirements in a timely fashion as well as getting involved in campaign implementation during busy periods.

Working with the Planner and Board Account Director, as Account Director, you will develop strategic initiatives and new creative propositions.

You have 12-18 month experience of working at Account Director level and previous charity experience.

As Account Director, you will be responsible for driving the business and for the overall client/agency relationship and may be asked to manage other non charity client additionally.

Account Director Responsibilities

  • Guide and supervise Account Managers within your team so as to ensure the agency provide a friendly, personal, highly professional, responsive and efficient service at all times.
  • Support the Board Account Director with the running of the business-side of assigned accounts, including conflict-resolution, income forecasting, income reporting, and organic growth.
  • Manage, motivate and mentor your team such that they not only provide an excellent level of service to clients, but also grow individually, both on a personal and professional basis.
  • Ensure that all interaction with other departments is undertaken sensitively and effectively.

Account Director - Strategic Support

  • Take a proactive lead in the provision of strategic guidance to assigned clients, through ad-hoc advice and the development of formal marketing and fundraising programmes, so as to enable them to achieve their objectives in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain a watching brief on industry developments in commercial Direct Marketing and Fundraising, so as to ensure that advice provided to clients, and shared internally is of the highest quality
