Account Director - Charity Account - Excellent Agency - to £50k

Extremely well respected direct marketing led agency seeks a talented Account Director to head up one of the charity-world's most loved accounts.

The agency are the lead strategic direct marketing agency for the account with a fully retained account team. They manage and develop their fundraising from individuals across Acquisition, Donor Development and Stewardship and Legacy.  

The successful Account Director will join the current team consisting of GAD, 2 x SAMs, an AM and an AE.  You will report into the GAD and will have the 2 SAMs reporting into you.

You will be responsible for driving the business and for the overall client/agency relationship.

The account is the agency's largest client and has been with the agency since 2003 - it's a great piece of business to work on.

The agency are thoroughly involved across the entire spectrum of the business, providing full strategic and creative support for acquisition, donor development and legacy teams.  It's predominantly offline media but they are making strides into some online areas too.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and supervise Senior Account Managers, Account Managers and Account Executives within your team so as to ensure the agency provide a friendly, personal, highly professional, responsive and efficient service at all times.
  • Support the Client Service Director with the running of the business-side of assigned accounts, including conflict-resolution, income forecasting, income reporting, and organic growth.
  • Manage, motivate and mentor your team such that they not only provide an excellent level of service to clients, but also grow individually, both on a personal and professional basis.
  • Ensure that all interaction with other departments is undertaken sensitively and effectively.
  • Support the Client Service Director in the hiring and review of staff.

Strategic Support

  • Take a proactive lead in the provision of strategic guidance to assigned clients, through ad-hoc advice and the development of formal marketing and fundraising programmes, so as to enable them to achieve their objectives in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain a watching brief on industry developments in commercial Direct Marketing and Fundraising, so as to ensure that advice provided to clients, and shared internally is of the highest quality,
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal systems and suggest practical ways in which this can be done.

To qualify you have at least six years of agency side client service experience preferably within the charity sector.

Account Director's without charity sector knowledge should have solid experience of working within the FS or telco sectors as the agency are looking for good CRM knowledge.

Additionally you have a thorough knowledge of direct marketing in all offline channels and online experience would be a definite plus.

You also have excellent communication skills both written and oral; a keen attention to detail and evidence of some prior team management.

You have strong analytical skills and confident presentation skills are a must; you thrive under pressure and have the ability to multi-task.
